FROM PAU, FRANCE · FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE PAYING ATTENTION
Living abroad changes what you think is normal.
I explain the rules, habits and everyday systems you don’t notice until you live somewhere else and run straight into them.

the project
FRANCE, AMERICA AND THE SPACE BETWEEN.
THE STORIES PEOPLE ACTUALLY ARGUE ABOUT
France does plenty of things differently. The interesting part is figuring out why people here expect them to work that way.
Culture · Conversation
French people can sound like they’re arguing when they’re not.
Systems · Everyday life
I didn’t notice the system until I moved.
AMERICAN IN FRANCE
WHO’S TALKING
I moved to France. A lot of things I thought were obvious suddenly weren’t.
Refound Abroad is me trying to work out why countries feel so different once you actually live in them. France is the main lens because that’s where I live, but the questions go well beyond France.
I don’t think France is perfect. It does make a lot of assumptions I grew up with look much less universal, though. That’s the part I find interesting, and I’d rather explain it than pretend it should be obvious.

FOR GOOD FITS ONLY
Got something that belongs in the story?
I work with organizations that help people navigate life across borders: language learning, travel, relocation, international education, consumer tech and services built for people living between countries.
That can mean a sponsored reel, a custom explainer or a longer partnership built around a real audience question. The work has to fit the audience. I don’t bolt a random ad onto a video and call it a partnership.
